The intellectual and philosophical basis of organization and management theories in functionalism and structuralism approach

Abstract

In this article we review the intellectual and philosophical basis of functionalism and structuralism sociological paradigms. We then discuss organization and management theories in the framework of these paradigms. Firstly these paradigms are detailed then the organization and management Theories are categorized in this framework. In continuing we describe the differences and similarities between functionalism and structuralism paradigms and then give a combinatory model. Finally we emphasize that combinatory model can give better description about theories and expend the contexts of theorization in organization and management
