Abstract

The current research was conducted with the aim of identifying and analyzing the essential digital skills required by human resources professionals in the banking sector. A mixed-method approach was employed, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques. In the qualitative phase, eight experts in digital human resources from state banks in Semnan were selected using a non-probabilistic-judgmental sampling method until theoretical saturation was reached. For the quantitative phase, a sample of ten human resource experts from the same banks was also chosen through non-probability judgmental sampling. Data was collected through expert interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis with MAXQDA software, which involved three stages: primary coding, secondary theme identification, and main theme extraction. The Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) method was subsequently used to prioritize the identified themes. Then, during sub-theme coding, the process of linking the categories with their sub-categories and linking the categories at the level of features and dimensions took place, which included eight main themes employee interaction and cooperation, banks' strategies for adapting employees to digital changes, employee development, digital tools and technologies, skills of digital human resources specialists, challenges in adapting to digital changes, the impact of digital transformations on the role of human resources, and the role of human resources in responding to digital transformation. The prioritization process highlighted three key themes: the skills of digital HR professionals, banks' strategies for adapting employees to digital changes, and the impact of digital changes on the role of HR.
