Abstract

Objective:Cultural expectations of the university and the necessity for optimal cultural planning have led to the present study, which aims to explain and model the drivers shaping university cultural planning through thematic analysis and interpretive structural modeling based on Imami jurisprudence.

Research Method:This research is exploratory in terms of its objective and applied in terms of its orientation. The research type is exploratory mixed method, conducted through thematic analysis in the qualitative section and interpretive structural modeling in the quantitative section. Data collection in the qualitative section utilized documentary studies, including policy guidelines in the university's cultural domain, and in the quantitative section, a standard pairwise comparison questionnaire was used. The data validity in the qualitative section was confirmed using Cohen's kappa coefficient(above 0.70).The theoretical population for completing the questionnaire comprised experts and specialists in cultural planning, including professors, vice-chancellors, and directors of cultural affairs at public universities. A sample of 20 individuals was selected through judgmental sampling based on characteristics such as work experience and familiarity with key concepts. Data analysis was performed using Atlas.ti software in the qualitative section and Excel in the quantitative section.

Findings:The qualitative findings reveal that 85 basic themes and 11 organizing themes shape the comprehensive theme of university cultural planning. In the quantitative section, all drivers, including talent development, trust-building, deliberation, solidarity, and participation, are at the same level and possess high driving power and dependence.

Conclusion:Recognition and analysis of these key drivers by university officials can contribute to improving efficiency in cultural planning.
