One of the important characteristics of modern world is the appearance of instabilities and wide range changes in the political, economical, social and
administrative systems. As a result of increase of human demands, expectations, information and environmental changes and technologic
progresses In the era of explosion of information, human societies have involved in a very confusing and complex situation that results in the
appearance of dangerous crisis in the world. The human being will not survive in this situation except through a management based on knowledge and
wisdom.
In this article, by the introduction of the "crisis management", we analyze the role of information systems in the process of enforcement of this modern
management. The information systems which are in fact the most important means of setting information, analyzing the situation and providing strategic
solutions at the time of dealing with the crisis, have the crucial role in foreseeing crisis and prevention and control of risks and crisis. This work is
based on the comparative and theoretical studies and the researcher has used the experiences obtained from the BAM earthquake. Theory of this study has examined by the interview with the experts who had participated in solving
the crisis of the city of Bam.
