Analysis of Challenges and Strategies for Developing the Non-Oil Exports: A Case Study of Yazd Textile Industry

Abstract

A diversification of the country’s export structure through the concerted development of its export-oriented manufacturing capacity could offer a viable alternative, as also stipulated in the Country’s Second Socioeconomic and Cultural Development Plan, by increasing the resilience of its economy against external shocks, supporting employment creation and technological innovation, and adding domestic value to its rich natural resource base, thereby enhancing its overall economic performance.
Despite a huge volume of public investment in some industries, Iranian textile industries faced a crisis in production and export that affected on the total non-oil export of the government. So, this study seeks to identify and prioritize the main effective factors on textile industries export. The results show that there are two main factors: Product quality & strategic insight toward global market that can make intensive difference in current textile export.
