Explaining the effect of entrepreneurial competencies on the resilience of female entrepreneurs through the mediation of entrepreneurial motivation (The case of: female entrepreneurs of Alborz province)

Abstract

Despite the importance of entrepreneurial resilience as one of the important capacities of female entrepreneurs to return to face problems, risks and failures and achieve success in future activities, researchers' understanding of the role of entrepreneurial competencies as one of the key capabilities of entrepreneurs on entrepreneurial resilience. In addition, how the motivations of female entrepreneurs are related to their resilience remains limited. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to fill the gap related to the role of entrepreneurial competencies on the resilience of women entrepreneurs in Alborz province by mediating entrepreneurial motivation. This research is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-correlation in terms of method. The data of this research were collected from a sample of 192 women entrepreneurs of Alborz province, who were selected by stratified random method, and tested by structural equation modeling method with PLS software. The Mediator relationships of the model were examined by the Sobel method. The findings of the research showed that the entrepreneurial competencies of the research model including conceptual competencies, business management, personal, opportunity and human relations have a direct and positive effect on the resilience of female entrepreneurs. In addition, the mentioned entrepreneurial competencies through the mediating variable of entrepreneurial motivation indirectly has a positive effect on the resilience of female entrepreneurs in Alborz province.
