Self-Development Competencies Model of Managers (A metasynthesis study)

Abstract

The present study was conducted with the aim of identifying the self-development competencies of managers. This study was conducted based on a qualitative approach and meta-synthesis method. All scientific documents found between the years 2012 and 2023, amounting to 567 scientific documents, form the community of the present research, which were found in 7 foreign databases and 5 domestic databases. Ultimately, 24 scientific documents are selected and analyzed after reviewing their titles and contents. The findings were analyzed using the coding method. In order to ensure the quality of the present study, the identification, exploration, and analysis of documents carried out with high precision, and the opinions of two experts used in the research steps. The self-development competencies of managers in five areas of capability, characteristics, attitude, knowledge, and organizational skills are identified. The capability area consists of components of self-learning, self-management, self-awareness, and self-motivation, totaling 45 sub-components. The characteristics area consists of 29 sub-components organized under two components of personal characteristics and professional characteristics. Professional enthusiasm and self-confidence are components of the attitude area, totaling 17 sub-components. In the knowledge area, two components of situational knowledge, professional knowledge, and 8 sub-components have been identified. 38 sub-components under three components of effective interpersonal communication, personal and professional growth, and mental and perceptual maturity have created the skill area.
