A Conceptual Model of the Quality of student-teacher at Farhangian University

Abstract

This research has been done with the aim of identifying the dimensions and components and presenting the student-teacher quality model of Farhangian Universities in Tehran. Based on the purpose, this research was applied and from the point of view of the nature of the data, it was qualitative, and thematic analysis method was used to analyze the data. The statistical population was formed by the professors of Farhangian universities in Tehran and also the student teachers of the last semester of the same universities in the spring of 2002, who were selected as the research sample using the purposeful sampling method and the interviews reached 22 people. The data collection tool was a semi-structured interview. The obtained data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The results of the research showed that the dimensions of the quality of student-teachers have four categories, including: the quality of competence, which includes three components (creativity and innovation, expertise and skill, and maintaining the dignity of teachers), the quality of the role, which includes four components (facilitation, formal authority, and verbal coaching). The quality of teaching and learning which includes three components (teaching method, teaching style and evaluation method) and the quality of work life which includes four components (level of independence, favorable social relations, general health and adaptation to the environment).
